Bio: David Kerley, CEO & Founder
David Kerley's family has been serving in the American
military since the Revolutionary War. In recent generations, David's
father served in the U.S. Navy and is a graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy
while his father-in-law is an Army veteran of WWII. Two of David's uncles
served in Vietnam, one as a naval pilot and the other as an enlisted man
in the Army. His grandfather was a WW2 Army Air Corps pilot instructor.
David began his service with the 9th Engineer Battalion
based in Aschaffenburg Germany. While in Germany, he participated in
Mountaineering training in the German Alps, small unit operations training
in Badtolz, and NBC (Nuclear, Biological, Chemical Warfare defense) NCO
school in Stuttgart. David also served at Fort Ord, in Monterey, California,
with the 14th Engineers. After leaving the Army in 1989, David spent four years in the
California National Guard, serving at the 143rd Evacuation Hospital at
the Los Alamitos Army Airfield.
While serving with the National Guard, David was also
hitting the books, and in 1993 he graduated from The Claremont
Colleges with a bachelors degree in Organizational Studies. During college,
David also founded and ran a small company, Network Options, that designed
and installed computer networks for business in the Southern California
region. Upon graduation, David worked in the insurance industry, designing
and implementing computer technology.
In 1995, David moved to San Francisco with the Internet
revolution, taking a product management position with Silicon Graphics,
Inc. After several years with SGI, it was on to New York to become a technology
analyst with Jupiter Communications. Here David designed and conducted
research on the ever-changing landscape of Internet technologies. It wasn't
very long before he was recruited back to the Bay Area, however, to help
found a software startup company. And here he remains, having physically
survived the tech wreck, bubble pop, dot bomb explosion.
All of his accumulated
experience and expertise is now being put to work pursuing his vision of providing private, secure, easy,
efficient email access to service members, veterans, and their families through
EmailCommand.com. It is his hope that others will use EmailCommand.com's services to promote a positive image and awareness for our volunteer military with every email they send.
